Default hp - align print cartridge

I have a 1310 series printer.

everytime i install a new ink cartidge it asks me to align it.
I already have the alignment paper.
when i put the align paper in the printer and are ready to align it, instead
of aligning it, it bascially scans it to HP Image Zone. The only way to align
it is to print out a new alignment paper everytime, it's like forcing you to
print out a new one everytime i want to align the cartridge or elseit scans
it. Does this occur to you? is there a fix to this problem?

also if i go into hp director and do it, same thing happens.

The way you describe the printer acting is exactly the way it's supposed to.
You can't use an old alignment printout, you have to let the alignment
procedure print a new one each time, which you then scan so that the
alignment procedure can see how far off the lines are and adjust the
cartridges accordingly. If you stick an old alignment paper into the
scanner, it figures it's just a normal scan procedure. It would be
meaningless to aligning the new cartridges, anyway.

From HP Support page about replacing the cartridges:
--Aligning the print cartridges
--After installing or replacing a print cartridge, the HP PSC will
automatically print a cartridge alignment page.
--Place the alignment page face down on the left front corner of the glass
with the top of the page facing the left side.
--Press Scan .
--The HP PSC will align the print cartridges. During the alignment the
button LED will blink until the alignment is complete.
