Default Bat File

Hi, i am new to networking and currently running a
workgroup network. i wanted to know what is a BAT file?

On the network which i am using, when the machines are
booting up they are looking for a .BAT file, which cannot
be found. I think i have found the relevant bat file on
the server, so how do i apply the changes on the local
machines so that they look for that particular bat file
which is on the server?

Also, out of interest how to i create a BAT file, which
can be used in a network, so that all computers use that
bat file for desktop settings etc? and how would i
implement that bat file on the server?

hopes this makes sense.

regards

A BAT file is a batch file. In the realm of DOS, an important file is that
of the Autoexec.bat file, as well as the Config.sys.

If you have access to one of the Batch newsgroups, then the folks there
could probably be a bit more helpful:

news:alt.msdos.batch
news:alt.msdos.batch.nt
