Default Flashing display

I just turned on my computer and I have a flashing display of
what comes up when you need to adjust brightness, etc. on
the computer and I cannot get rid of it. Any ideas?

Have you tried pushing the button on the monitor that controls the adjustments?
Have you tried turning off/unplugging the monitor, and then turning it on again
after a minute?
