Need to reinstall the Display software
I have worked out that the drivers and software that control the Display (in
Control Panel) need to be reloaded. I have not been able to find a way where I can reload this part of the operating system. |

Presumably you are having problems with the display on your monitor - e.g.
colour and/or screen resolution (size) issues, which you can't resolve in the 'Display | Settings' panel. If so, this usually means your video drivers have become corrupted or damaged and you'll have to re-install your video drivers :- Boot into Safe Mode and in Device Manager, 'Remove' any/all Display Adapters and Monitors and then re-boot. WinMe *should* re-detect (Plug and Play) your video card and monitor, and should install the 'correct' original drivers. This should allow you to reset you display to your required settings. N.B. - Be sure that you have a 'fresh' copy of the video drivers (often supplied on a supplementary CD, supplied with your PC) or download the 'latest' WinMe drivers from your video card manufacturers web site. Good luck Mart "Darren." wrote in message ... I have worked out that the drivers and software that control the Display (in Control Panel) need to be reloaded. Sorry Mart.
That is not my problem. I cannot get into the Power Saving Settings. Once I have opened the DISPLAY program from Contro Panel, there are a number of tabs along the top. Go to "ScreenSaver" and there are 2 sections. Bottom section is "Energy Saving features of monitor", here there is a button "Settings". When I click this button, nothing happens as the software (or module) is no longer working. Darren, I don't have WinMe working here at the moment - I'm running XP which
has slightly different settings - so I can't replicate, but it could well be worth trying my previous suggestion anyway. This *might just be* a driver issue and re-installing them could help. Nothing lost in trying. Mart "Darren." wrote in message ... Sorry Mart. That is not my problem. I cannot get into the Power Saving Settings.
