Ladies and Gents.
Depending on how MS cut us off, and the NNTP client you use, you may
suddenly find that you have NO newsgroups in your reader when it happens.
So now would be a good time to back up your message store if you want to
keep the priceless gems you've garnered over the last
however-long-it-is-since-you-first-joined-the-groups if you've kept them in
your current store.
So dig out the manuals and read how to do that

Just a little heads-up

Two things from this site worth having are Noel's Website and a URL for
everything Windows ME that he supplied:

Did I really supply that link? - I have neither memory, nor record of it!
Ah, well - thanks for the compliment anyway!

Wellllll......shall we use Majik's OE backup? I back all my stuff up to
ClickFree, an external drive sorta with it's own self-activating proggie.
However, when my HD was dying and I restored everything to the new one, I
had NO bloody OE emails or subfolders.

To the rescue came the *handsome MVP* called PA Bear on his dashing white
charger, (gag) and he told me how to laboriously restore everything. It
seems for some reason ClickFree didn't back up Folders.dbx which rendered
everything useless. So if needs be, I do have his instructions somewhere on
this machine.

I am not 100% sure what you are warning us about, Furball. I assume that MS
in its infinite wisdom is no longer supporting these news groups. So we are
going to lose our favourite corner to chit chat in. Damn them all to
Hell!!!! (vbg)

If you're using WinMail in Vista, and MS delete the groups - then there's a
good chance that all posts to the deleted groups will disappear!
Similar possibility in OE/Win9x or XP - dunno about other readers.
If they just switch off the servers I don't know what will happen.
If they leave the groups up but make them read-only, then things would stay
as they are at that point (so we can the see who had that LAST POST!

It all depends on one man with his finger on a button.... remind you of
something?

Bye, Heather... and all the others. Well, Figgs, I guess they thought
we were going to live too long for them to bear with us so they decided
to kill us! As a Maritimer all I can say now is that I think that I
would appreciate a final Texas gem from Heirloom!

Kisses and hugs, figgy...

Hi Puss........I have missed you......and still haven't got back to the
Maritimes. We were going to go this summer, but illness got in the way.

I chatted just recently with the Loon and he broke his ankle, if memory
serves me right. Probably fell off his tricycle (they don't let OLD people
ride motorcycles, lol). I will perhaps fire off an email tomorrow and tell
him we need his taglines........grin.

We should keep in touch......is that address a good one?? Noel, Mike and
Joanie have my real one, so they could give it to you.

Kisses and hugs backatcha, old sock......Figgs

I keep meaning to fire off an email to him but I'm not finding enough hours
in the day to do all I want to since Kelly had the kids.
Most mornings they call round so I'm then late getting on the computer
trying to catch up with everything gI wouldn't swop them though.
I shall lose a few hours tomorrow as well, I've got to look after them while
parents go shopping, oh the joys of being a granny g
