After Windows update computer won't restart
Microsoft Windows Me. Went to Windows update. Downloaded &
installed DirectX 9.0. After install said computer myust restart to complete installation. Computer gets to Windows ME startup screen & stops loading.

Have you tried booting to Safe Mode?
