Win 98 Administrators password
I have obtained a part time voluntary role within a local school in the ICT
department. Nothing technical, defragging, virus scans and general printing problems, maybe helping out with very basic Word and a paint programme. The PCs are networked and I tried to scan a document on one of the PC's with Syphos and it said the data file was 4 months out of date. I guess the main programme to download the data files would be accessed using the administrators privilege. However, although I have a list of all the passwords for each year class, the Admin password was not listed. I have contact previous the admistrator who left the role in June but he said he could not remember ??? I also contacted the schools ICT support and they said all was lost, try to guess, eg schools name, area, postcode, but as suspected it simply wasted an hour of my time. Any guidance would be appreciated. kind regards James |

Thank you for the reply.
I have only just started at the school ( Friday) so finding my way around. I am not IT trained, just helping out. The PC's are all networked, and when I went control panel users I found options of Admin Class 1 Class 2 Class 3 Class 4 etc I will check again on Monday and hopefully be able to provide more ( and better) information.
