All you have done is downloaded them, and you could have downloaded them to any
folder you want. You have to run each one to install each. They can be stored wherever you like after that. "Jim" wrote in message ... Thanks Glen. I have 3 critical updates that do not trigger on the windows
update scan but are listed as either invalid or not found files in the qfe check. Should I worry about this? Today I uninstalled 1 then reinstalled it and the same response in those 2 types of check. @glee: See Jim's earlier thread (where AFAIK we'd gotten him all sorted):

Here is the underlying problem of any DL; If the QFEcheck has critical
updates that are invalid then the version number does not match. Does this mean that the update is not functioning. Some have file not found. This could mean that the object that it relates to has been removed or is no longer supported software; like webTV related updates. Also it could mean a DL error. Lastly and most important, none currently show up as problem in Windows Update Scan. ...none currently show up as problem in
Windows Update Scan. As I've said repeatedly in your original thread, if a CUSTOM scan Windows Update doesn't offer the machine any updates, you're OK. And if such is the case, you don't need to revisit Windows Update again unless you reinstall Win98 since no other updates will ever be released for Win98. I have 3 critical updates that show either invalid or file not found.
KB908519 is one of them. The others are q329115 ( I had to reinstall that one years ago over and over again) and kb916547. I sort of see what you did, it looks like you are just telling QFE check to take any value there and negating the check process by leaving it blank...causing the check to remove the flagged error. Is that correct? "PCR" wrote in message ... Jim wrote: | Thanks Glen. Ok, I got that corrected. Ignore the other post it is not correct.
The other 2 critical updates were q329115 and kb918547. All others were like webTV removed software so file not found. "PCR" wrote in message ... Jim wrote: | Thanks Glen.
