How long is a piece of string ?
Is your hardware up to it ? What types of application software do you use ? e.g. you may need to back-up documents, spreadsheets, databases, photos, email address book, to mention just a few, ...downloaded programs - perhaps bought online - that may need to be reinstalled if "upgrade" doesn't go swimmingly ! regards, Richard "jeanz" wrote in message ... do i need to save any pertinent info from my computer before i upgrade to win 98 se |

What are you upgrading from, jeanz? From 95 to 98, from 3.1 to 98, from 98
to 98SE? Regardless, it's *always* wise to back up your personal files. Normally, an upgrade will leave them alone, but that's only "normally" and it's actually rather common that you run into problems, and perhaps even need to reinstall the system from scratch after reformatting the drive. There are different ways we deal with these issues, depending on what you're upgrading from and to, and how much disk space you have, how large is the hard drives, etc. I'm assuming you don't have a CD burner? Please tell us more details about your project. -- Gary S. Terhune MS-MVP Shell/User "jeanz" wrote in message ... do i need to save any pertinent info from my computer before i upgrade to win 98 se |
