Default Windows ME Startup

When I start my computer, I get a black screen with white
letters that showm my system information (Processor,
memory etc...) and the startup will stop at this screen.

There is a message at the bottom of the screen saying hit
Del to continue startup. When I hit Del the startup
completes fine.

How do I get the startup to run without having to hit the
Del key. This only started happening recently, I don't
know what I did or how to get it back.

I did a system restore, and the problem still exists.

Mike,

The screen you are seeing is from your motherboard's bios and has nothing to
do with the operating system you have installed which is why using system
restore has made no difference to this problem. What is the message
immediately above the line telling you to click DEL to continue? You problem
could possibly be as simple as your motherboard battery needs replacing. Is
the clock correct when you boot into Win Me after the machine has been
switched off for some time? If not then you need to replace the motherboard
battery.
