Go into the BIOS setup, find "Boot Sequence" and make sure it is set
to "A:, C:". Save any changes when exiting. If this doesn't help, try creating a new startup floppy. http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm Ben "milkman2283" wrote in message ... The result you get suggests that you did not yet reformat the drive, or that
you already started an install that subsequently failed. When you start up, does the floppy drive get accessed (lights, noise)? As Ben said, you probably need to get into BIOS and change the boot order. For a Gateway, I would imagine the DEL key is the way into BIOS (repeatedly press it as the system starts up.) F1, F2 and F10 are other possible keys. -- Gary S. Terhune MS-MVP Shell/User www.grystmill.com "milkman2283" wrote in message ... I formated the drive, now trying to reinstall. I have changed the boot order to : removable device - CD ROM - Hard Drive,
but still do not access the start up menu with : options for CD Support or without , etc. Still getting the menu from the first post I posted above. -- milkman "Gary S. You want the floppy drive to come first in the boot order. I don't think
"removable device" refers to the floppy drive. -- Gary S. Terhune MS-MVP Shell/User www.grystmill.com "milkman2283" wrote in message ...
