Default C:\WINDOWS\TEMP

Hi, just out of interest, is the contents of the following
folder important:

C:\WINDOWS\TEMP

what does this folder contain, and should it be emptied on
a regular basis? any short cuts for doing this?

regards

They are temporary files used by various programs....temporarily. They can be
deleted after a reboot....Windows won't let you delete any that are in use.

Reboot.
Open the Temp folder and delete all Temp files:
-Click StartRun, type: %temp% and click OK.
-Press Ctrl+A to select all, then press Delete.

While you're at it, also delete the Temporary Internet Files regularly:
-Click Start Settings Control Panel Internet Options General tab.
-Click the Delete Files button, then put a checkmark in the box to Delete all
offline content, and click OK, and OK.
