Default SIGNON PROBLEM

I HAVE A COMPAQ PRESARIO 7470 USING WINDOWS 98 SEC ED.
WHEN I LOG ON, I GET A MESSAGE "APPS.INF FILE MISSING."
HOW DO I GET RID OF THIS OR HOW DO I FIND IT AND PUT IN
WIN.INF?

Default SIGNON PROBLEM

Extract a new copy of Apps.inf from either your Windows 98 CD or from the .cab file
location on your hard drive, to the Windows\INF folder, using the "Extract one file"
option of System File Checker (SFC).
