mouse not detected
Hi! I hope you all can help me. I was given an old computer with
window 98 and when I turn it on it says that there is no mouse detected. The ps2 mouse is plugged in to an adaptor that plugs into the serial port. Could this be the problem? |

Those adapters only work on a "combo mouse"...one that is specifically made to work
on either a PS/2 or serial port. You can't just plug any PS/2 mouse into the adapter. -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP W95/98 Systems http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm "Franki Pearson" wrote in message ... Hi! Why can't you plug the mouse into the ps/2 port? If it's
an old computer with only one ps/2 port and it's being used by the keyboard already buy one of these cables they only costs a few dollars: http://tinyurl.com/yru98 Serial mouses are as old as the hills and you'd be hard pressed finding one these days. Mouses are either ps/2, usb or both, wireless. -----Original Message----- Hi! I hope you all can help me. The PC doesn't have a PS/2 port and a serial mouse is readily available in
computer stores. -- Regards Ron Badour, MS MVP for W98 Tips: http://home.satx.rr.com/badour Knowledge Base Info: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbinfo wrote in message ...
