removing 'read only'
how do I alter the 'read only' condition on photo CDs I
have?. currently I can't edit or do anything with the photos except look at them! thanks PaulineJ |

You don't. The CDFS filing system used on CD-ROMs knows nothing about file
attributes and permissions. You can only change the read only attribute of a file when you copy the file to your hard disk. Do this by right clicking and unchecking the Read-only attribute on the Properties page or if you have a lot of protected files in a folder right click on the folder, select Properties and uncheck the read only box and then when asked apply it to the contents of the folder. -- Mike Maltby PaulineJ wrote: how do I alter the 'read only' condition on photo CDs I have?. currently I can't edit or do anything with the photos except look at them! thanks PaulineJ |
