Did you install the printer drivers before first connecting each printer?
For many usb devices it is essential to install the drivers before connecting the device. -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP dbodz wrote: Does anyone know of any software that would conflict and not alllow my two printers to be detected on the PC via USB ports? My PC has no problem picking up my Scanner and my two Microsoft Joysticks but will not pick up my Epson or my Hewitt Packard printers via USB ports I have on my PC. Something either by way of hardware or software is creating this problem? Any body got any ideas. Id sure appreciate it. |

Mike
Thanks for responding. Yes I did. that is I did install the drivers before connecting the printers. HP deskjets tell you not to connect the printer until prompted Any event I figured it out. The scanner software was conflicting with USB somehow. Once I uninstalled the Scanner software, and then tried to install the printer software drivers for my Hp Deskjet, it installled no problem. Go figure I guess from now on, printers must be installed before scanners Oh yeah , if interested, the scanner was a Visioneer 7600 Flatbed USB scanner. dbodz "Mike M" wrote in message ...
