Default One LAN computer can't see one router on LAN

This is a curiosity, not something which has seriously broken things.
The situation:

One LAN, IP address 192.168.102.0/255.255.255.0

SpeedStream 4100 DSL modem: 192.168.0.1
Netgear FR114P: 192.168.102.1
SMC Barricade 7004BR: 192.168.102.2 (DHCP disabled)
Linksys BEFSR11: 192.168.102.3 (WAN side)
Sony Playstation 2: 192.168.102.12
HP Pavilion 6745C: 192.168.102.100 (Windows ME)
HP Pavilion a1440n: 192.168.102.101 (Windows XP MCE 2005)
HP Pavilion 6745C: 192.168.102.102

The connections:

DSL modem to Netgear WAN port; 192.168.0.1 on modem, 192.168.1.64 on
router WAN port. PPPoE on modem, DHCP on router WAN port.

Netgear LAN port 1 to 192.168.102.100
Netgear LAN port 2 to 192.168.102.101
Netgear LAN port 4 (Uplink) to 192.168.102.2

SMC Barricade LAN port 1 to 5-port hub uplink port
SMC Barricade LAN port 4 to 192.168.102.1

Hub port 1 to 192.168.102.3
Hub port 2 to 192.168.102.102
Hub port 3 to 192.168.102.12
Hub port 5 (Uplink) to SMC port 1

192.168.102.100 and 192.168.102.101 can reach every IP address in the
LAN, and three outside of the LAN: 192.168.0.1, 192.168.1.64, and
192.168.129.1.

192.168.102.102 can reach every IP address that the other computers can
reach...EXCEPT 192.168.102.2!

Bad cable? Why can 192.168.102.102 go through all the cables to
192.168.0.1, but not to 192.168.102.2? The same cables, and port on the
SMC Barricade are used. Packets can go past the Barricade on the LAN
side, but not to the Barricade.

The only thing which has changed has been the removal of software as the
owner of the affected computer is moving over to the new Pavilion. Odd.
At some point I will be reloading the OS, anyway, and will see if that
fixes things. Just can't figure out why the packets can traverse the
same cabling, and reach beyond the LAN port of the Barricade to points
on, and beyond the Netgear, but can't reach the Barricade, or beyond the
Barricade to the Internet when dial-up is in place.

Hikaru (192.168.102.102) can ping the gateway (192.168.102.1), but not
192.168.102.2. Packets to the gateway reach 192.168.102.2 on LAN port 1,
but are switched from there to 192.168.102.1.

Megumi (192.168.102.100) can ping 192.168.102.2.

If a port was going bad on the Barricade, swapping LAN port 1 and LAN
port 4 should change which computer fails to ping 192.168.102.2. Alas
the trouble moves with the cable.

If the cabling between Hikaru and 192.168.102.2 were bad, I would expect
that Hikaru could no more succeed in pinging the gateway (192.168.102.1)
than it could ping 192.168.102.2. Alas, Hikaru can even ping beyond the
gateway, to 192.168.0.1 (modem on the far side of the gateway).
