windows ask for the cd when adding components
Windows ask for the cd when adding components. How do I make it look in
C:\Windows\Options. I know it is a Register setting. How do I change the value to show Window the Cabs are on the hardrive? -- Darrell Bulvony Visit my little site on the WWW. http://www.alltel.net/~dbulvony/INDEX.html Send E-Mail to -- Anything that can go wrong will go wrong. |

There are two ways of doing what you want, either by editing the registry
by hand or by using TweakUI. Registry edit: Open Regedit and in the left hand pane browse to the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Setup Then move to the right hand pane and select and double click the string value SourcePath and enter into the Data box the full path to the folder on your hard disk that contains the Win Me cab files. TweakUI If you have TweakUI installed, open the MyComputer tab and in the "Special Folders" section select "Installation Path" from the drop down menu, then click "Change" and again enter the full path to the folder on your hard disk that contains the Win Me cab files. -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP Darrell dbulvony@NO SPAMalltel.net wrote: Windows ask for the cd when adding components. Darrell,
Glad to have been able to help. Yes, TweakUI is a very useful little tool and makes some tasks so very much easier. -- Mike Maltby MS-MVP Darrell dbulvony@NO SPAMalltel.net wrote: Thanks alot. Tweakui helped me again. |
