Default .EXE application programs

Denny:

DS Customer runs old programs, Quicken 6, and Quattropro.
DS About 4 days ago both .EXE programs vanished. We
DS installed Quicken again and it worked for 2 days then
DS gone again. Reinstalled again okay. Did current virus
DS scan with 2 systems and found nothing. Windows works
DS fine. What would erase a program multiple times?

A long time ago I had communications utility of which a file became
corrupted when I ran a certain option. Didn't run the option, file
was OK. Re-install the file from the master floppy (told you this was
a long time ago! g), all fine again until ran the option.

Finally renamed the (corrupted) file to hold the place on the hard
drive, re-installed from the floppy, then erased the "placeholder"
file. Ran fine for the next six or seven months (upgraded the hard
drive).

May or my not be helpful but may be worth a try.
