MS Security patch doesn't "take" with successive scans
Running Win 98 SE,
Upon visiting the Mocrosoft Windowns Update site, it scans my systems and says I need: "Cumulative Security Update for Outlook Express 6 Service Pack 1 (KB837009)" I do use OE (version 6.00.2800.1123), so I click on install, and it goes "through the motions". No reboot required... I scan again, and I get the SAME result, I need: "Cumulative Security Update for Outlook Express 6 Service Pack 1 (KB837009)" I check my installation history, and it indicates the Update was successfully installed! I re-install, and rescan, same result! What gives?? |

I'd recommend getting your IE issues straightened out first. (And I thought
you'd said the machine /was/ fully patched at Windows Update?!) OE Help About Files: What versions of MSOE.DLL, INETCOMM.DLL and DIRECTDB.DLL are listed here (e.g., v6.00.2600.1234?
