Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 217210

Can anyone please clarify the above referenced article? I
want to install Win2000 and Win98 on a single HD PC.

I don't know what clarification you need, but the very basic method is to boot
to the Windows 2000 installation CD, clear all partitions, create a new FAT32
partition, format it, then exit. Install Windows 98. Then go back and boot to
the Win2K CD, create your second partition (FAT32 or NTFS, doesn't matter unless
you want Win2K to se Win98--I don't recommend it) and install. A boot menu will
automatically be installed on the Windows 98 partition.

Of course, there are many more scenarios available, and if you use a different
partition/boot manager program like BootIt NG, you'll want to do it just the
opposite--install the Win2K system first, then the Win98 system. This prevents
Win2K from installing a boot manager to the Win98 partition. Or, you can use
BING to hide the Win98 partition from the Win2K installer, but that's a bit
trickier.

Understand, Win2K does fun things to all partitions, and Win98 can't see NTFS
partitions without a third-party utility. I like to keep them entirely hidden
from each other, using other partitions to share user files and not sharing any
applications.
