Default Printer Folder Not Responding!

Hi all:

All of a sudden, and for no reason I can figure out, clicking on Start
Settings Printers results in a blank folder (not even the add a

new printer icon) and nothing else. Hitting Ctrl-Alt-Del I see
"Printers (Not Responding" and I have to shut the printers window
down. Oddly enough, I can still print to my printer - a networked
printer attached to a print server - but the printer doesn't show up
in "My Network Places" and "My Network Places" is *very* slow to
respond.

Can anyone give me some advice here?

TIA.

Tom Young
