Default Latest in the Norton Debacle

Hi all,
just wondering if there is any updated information to the Norton
debacle that someone here introduced a few weeks ago.
If I recall it was about Norton themselves finding themselves in a
pickle because their own product had been infiltrated.
Have Norton owners had this problem fixed due to the 'updates'
they normally do as requested? (similar to the way all AV updates
are accomplished by an owner of an AV).

I have looked for threads here and the Norton site is at its usual
best like a politician is when he opens his mouth......... nothing of
any value comes out.

regards Jane
