Mouse not recognized
I'm running windows ME and the system is not detecting the mouse. I can
start up in safe mode and the mouse is recognized. I have a feeling my PC is infected. Any suggestions on fixes? |

What makes you think it is infected? Has your virus checker highlighted a
problem? Make sure the definitions are up to date. However, if only this mouse issue, then you don't say what sort of mouse - PS/2, USB, Wireless, etc., but it sounds like your mouse driver is no longer being properly recognised, is incorrectly set-up, or is corrupted. Boot into Safe Mode and in Device Manager, 'Remove' any/all mouse(s) then re-boot. WinMe will re-detect (Plug&Play) your mouse then should install the 'correct' drivers. If you mouse requires special software (e.g. Intellipoint) then have your software driver disk ready in case it required. HTH and good luck Mart "tom h" wrote in message ...
