Default Can't upload image to wallpaper without enabling Active Desktop

When I select a .jpg from my files to use as wallpaper, I
get a message that says I can only use the image if I
enable Active Desktop. I don't want Active Desktop
enabled . . . and I used to be able to load any image
without this happening. How can I get around this?

Thanks. I still couldn't load it from the control panel
(same Active Desktop message), but I just saved it as
wallpaper from the Paint program. There's always a way!

Load the jpg into an image editor and save it as bmp avoids the "Active
Desktop must be active" bs.

You can change your desktop wallpaper by right clicking a blank part of the
desktop and entering the program that way.

Also, you might want to download Irfanview. It's a free graphics program
and is simple to use. I've been using it for years.

Thanks for letting us know you solved the problem.

Right. That's what I did, but still got the same Active
Desktop message. That's why I saved from Paint.

I tried that, but had the same problem. I'll check out
Irfanview. Thanks!
