"Unrecognized Object Name" when trying to import Scan into Adobe Acrobat 5.00 - Examples
Several people with the EXACT SAME problem (in 2002/2003), but no solution
:-( at least I couldn't find any. 1.) http://www.planetpdf.com/forumarchive/36833.asp 2.) http://www.planetpdf.com/forumarchive/79331.asp ------------------- Using OS Win98SE and Agfa Snapscan 1212u (USB). When I try to import scan directly into Acrobat 5,0 it stops with the error message "Unrecognized object name" When I used Win98 I never had this problem. A search on the net shows that other people have experienced the same problem, but no soloution on how to solve it has been found. I do not know if Win98SE is the problem since this installation is on another machine but I suspect there must be something related to Win98SE and USB. Any idea on how to find out what causes the problem? I did not find anything at www.adobe.com. Again any help is appreciated Thanks C. |

"Unrecognized Object Name" when trying to import Scan into Adobe Acrobat 5.00 - Examples
I don't know, never tried to, but I did try to append from another scanner hooked up by TCP/IP and that gave the same error message, so my first guess about USB problems must be wrong. There is something with AA5.00 and W98SE when appending scans that does not work. Is Adobe Acrobat 6.00 made for W98SE? but having said that I tried the other way around, using the scanner software to forward the document to Adobe PDF writer and that worked fine!!! and that is really all I need :-) So,... thanks! I have always done it one way and didn't conceive other ways to do it before you gave me the hint. Thanks C. "Gary S. Terhune" none skrev i melding ... Can you Import to any other app? -- Gary S.
