Explorer folder won’t close.

Explorer folder won’t close.
You can still use it and open up other things but it will not close.
It does not crash on reboot.

Yes, it matters. Or at least, it may matter, depending on what folder it is.

Please specify: is it a Windows Explorer window (dual-pane) or is it a Folder
window? What is the name and location of the folder? What happens when you try to
close it with the X in the upper right corner.....do you get an error message? What
happens when you try to close it using the File menu Exit? What about if you use
Ctrl+Alt+Delete and then End Task on the window? What if anything have you been
doing in that open folder window, prior to the problem? Deleting large numbers of
files? Something else?

OK. Still, you must be more expansive. Answer these questions, which I
have thought up independently of Glee...

Please specify: is it a Windows Explorer window (dual-pane) or is it a
Folder window? What is the name and location of the folder? What
happens when you try to close it with the X in the upper right
corner.....do you get an error message? What happens when you try to
close it using the File menu Exit? What about if you use

It is not a dual-pane window. It varies on the name of the folder.
d:\news

Click on the x nothing happens. Alt +4 and even right click close
nothing happens.

It just random when it happen. After a reboot or shutdown it closes.
Explorer.exe does not crash

I checked for spyware and adaware and other things.

happens ???

It is just random right now. The only thing I added was a new
dial-up connection. Switched isp.
