Media Players are crashing 98
Just recently I have been having problems with my media players (WMP v.7,
MPclassic). Every time I load them and try to play a file, they hang and then I must reboot windows. I've tried updating my video driver, un-installing and re-installing the players and even restoring the registry from a few days ago. I have all the most recent windows98 updates and the most current IE/updates. Short of a windows over-install/repair can anyone suggest a fix? Thanks. |

Have you run recent scans with up to date antivirus and spyware programs?

Have you recently installed any third-party codecs for playing media types?

Any error message? What? BSOD? What message? Or did everything just become non-responsive? If the later, you might try repairing Internet Explorer. Yes, I know that it isn't germaine vis a vis media players but it is hooked in with Windows Explorer which manages all sort of opening/closing, etc. You can get at the repair option via MS System Information, Tools. -- dadiOH ____________________________ dadiOH's dandies v3.06... ....a help file of info about MP3s, recording from LP/cassette and tips & tricks on this and that. Everything just became unresponsive. I tried your suggestion of doing the IE
repair, but no luck. Same thing happened. "dadiOH" wrote: Victor wrote: Just out of curiosity I installed wmp version 6.4 and the same happened.
