HyperTerminal
I have a stand-alone PC Pentium 3 with Win98SE and would
like to use HyperTerminal to send data files to another computer using the normal telephone service on my Broadband line (ADSL modem). The other computer has similar communications. When I select the DSL line in HyperTerminal, it only attempts to connect using: "Microsoft VPN Adaptor", which it then says is "Disconnected" (although in Control Panel that function IS installed). I would however, like to use the DSL line that HyperTerminal does list but with which it will not connect, or alternatively, get it to use whatever connection it is supposed to use in order to connect using the ADSL modem. How can I resolve this issue. In case it may assist the following are the "Communications Components" currently listed in Control Panel: Not installed - "Dial-Up ATM Support" (have tried installing this but it did not resolve the issue). Installed - "Dial-Up Networking". Not installed - "Dial-Up Server" (have tried installing this but it did not resolve the issue). Not installed - "Direct Cable Connection". Installed - "HyperTerminal". Installed - "Microsoft Chat 2.5" Installed - "Phone Dialer". Installed - "Virtual Private Networking". How do I resolve this issue and get HyperTerminal to connect so I can send data files using it? |
