I could list everything I have tried... but this machine has been in
this state for weeks now and I have tried so many things. I have used a few adware software components in an attempt to remove any nasty components. Norton Anti-virus 2005, ad-aware and spybot have all been used. A few minor things were found and removed. Removing them were no help. I just tried LSP-Fix.. it did not find any registry issues. During the hangs I have monitored Explorer with Regmon and Filemon. I have not been able see any unusal activities. But, I can rerun the monitors and identify what the last activity is before the hang. But, I think that will be of little help to anyone. I'd like to know if anyone who has had this issue has ever solved it. Thanks, Craig Noel Paton wrote: (it doesn't necessarily mean that at all. Noel,
I already did... it was installed to see if it could locate any issues. It was then uninstalled. Noel Paton wrote: Norton -the magic word!! Just uninstalling Norton Anti-Virus is not enough - you then have to
Uninstall the rest of the Symantec malware.... and run the manual Removal tool that they provide... and then do a manual registry clean... and then... and then..... -- Noel Paton (MS-MVP 2002-2005, Windows) Nil Carborundum Illegitemi http://www.btinternet.com/~winnoel/millsrpch.htm http://tinyurl.com/6oztj Please read http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm on how to post messages to NG's wrote in message oups.com...
