Default Windows 98SE Product Keys

I've just downloaded a copy of Windows 98SE from the Internet and I'm in the
middle of Windows 98SE Setup where you have to enter a Product key. Are
there any websites where I can find a Windows 98SE Product Key?

Microsoft doesn't make any version of Windows available for free
downloading. I recommend that you report the site where you found
Windows 98SE to

There's no legitimate site for downloading a product key for any
version of Windows.

And he thought, maybe, he would get some help in pirating here???? Not
a real good plan. Maybe it would be a good time to go to W2k at least.

Indeed that seems to have been his plan. I just bought the Windows
98SE (Upgrade) CD off of Amazon for $45 plus shipping to replace my
original CD that I some how damaged. No big deal. I have to believe
the guy can afford to shell out $50. And then, maybe not. My lord how
cheap and lame have we become. Must everything be free in life?

Yes, there are.

For product keys for other MS products, do individual google searches
for these:

Become? I wrote a small disk directory indexing program for the TRS80
Mdl I/III/IV back around 1980 and distributed it in some of the club
meetings with the only request that if the user liked the program please
send $2 to my POBox. Various notices were placed in the code with test
code to replace and notices changed or deleted. I never received a dime
but when attending a meeting in one of the local colleges I found a copy
that someone had taken the time to dig out all the replicating code and
was offering free to anyone who wanted it. Since the tests were
fragmented in many locations I know someone spent a lot of time trying
to dig them all out. Attitudes haven't changed just the technology.
His type will be with us forever ... sigh.

If Macro$haft doesn't have the good sense to allow people to buy their
friggin products then they lose nothing when someone asks for a
product key for win-98. Buying a product key on e-bay means nothing.
It's no more legit than finding one on the net. Read the EULA.
According to the EULA for win-98, you must transfer the hardware along
with the original CD and product-key sticker for the transfer of the
license to be legit.
