Default Five years, man, five years!

Allusion to Woodstock. Some of us are still there after 35 years (and a
bit), even though we were never there to begin with. But to get to the
point, Win ME went gold 5 years ago yesterday ( though some files have
09/06/2000 dates!).

Wot, no party?

Too bad there isn't a whole lot of support for WinMe these days. (98 also)
Notice "WinXP only" on a lot of new software and hardware. Microsoft AntiSpyware
for example.

And in all probability there will be a lot less at years end, DanR, if any.
Why do you think, Shane wants to get drunk?

Harry.

What's wrong with the gutter, between lampposts, where it's dark?

Don't bother answering, Harry. I'm signing off now, aching and abraded from
three days servicing the bike (don't tell her I said so!). iow I'm moving in
the morning. All together now.......There'll be bluebirds
over.........Martina Navratilova?

Shane:

Surely I'm not alone, wishing you the best of luck and the best of
everything else, for that matter
You fully deserve it.

At my age, it is just staggering how quickly five years passes.
And the "to do" list never gets any shorter.

DanR, the problem is that one simply can't build Win XP security into
Win9X. The Win9X core files do not permit it, without destroying lots of
backward compatibility, ... to the point that many would no longer call it
Win9X.
Given the increasing threats via the Internet, there is no affordable
alternative to XP-like security. Internet 6 will help greatly.
