Default invalid page fault in kernel32.dll when starting program

Hey, I'm working on a PC for a dental office, and when I
start this database program called "dentrix" on this
particular PC, it starts fine and everything, but when I
click on a button that is used to open another executable
(dentrix image) that is like a plug-in for this
application, I get an invalid page fault error.

This is the first time I've worked on a PC for this
office, and this program, and its driving me nuts. I've
completely formatted and reinstalled windws 98se and
apps, and still get the same problem. I've swapped out
the memory. I originally thought it was because of the
video driver because this denimg program uses a video
capture card to capture pictures, but I've downloaded the
appropriate drivers and everything for this ATI AIW 128
to work with video for windows and stuff so it should
work. Here's the complete text of the error message:

DENIMG caused an invalid page fault in

Since it happens only with this one application then the problem is likely
to be with that program rather than with Windows. Have you checked out the
manufacturer's support site?

yes I checked on there, but the info avialable to the
public is very limited, you need a support contract/login
to access the rest and I dont have one.

Can you run the image program on its own? The error might then be different
and may offer another clue to the problem.

I originally thought no, if you just click on it through
explorer it gives an error and quits. However, I played
with it using the command line, and it expects to recieve
an integer value indicating the record number its to
start with. If you give it a valid record number, it
crashes with the kernel32 error. If you give it an
invalid record number it gives a "cannot find record
number' error and quits, if I give it a non-integer value
(such as "/?") it gives an error but then opens the
program (it just doesn't do what its supposed to because
it needs to be linked to a database record).

However, this still leaves me fresh out of ideas...
