Can anyone tell me how to completely remove the Windows
Millennium OS in order to upgrade to Windows XP?

Why? Windows XP will remove all traces of WindowsMe when it "upgrades" it.
That's how the upgrade works.

I don't have the answer to your question except that

Microsoft tech support should help you. And I've been told
that there is an XP "update" CD that can copy right over
ME.
