Default Download Freezes Need Help!!!!!!

I am totally stumped on this. I am running Windows ME on a
older Dell Dimension L550r & I have recently switched over
to DSL from Dial-Up. Since that time, whenever I try to
download a file (music, movie or whatever) larger than 5-6
meg the download will just freeze up (not my machine, just
the download process). usually within 2.5 - 5.5 megs. If
it's a smaller file (5-6 meg) it'll download without a
glitch.

I have ran the tests on my modem (westell 2200) and my
Wireless Router (Linksys 2.4 GHz) all fine. I contacted
Verizon Tech support, they ran line, modem & router
checks, all fine. I don't know what the problem is, but
when I had dial up I was able to download these same
files.
Anybody have a suggestion??????

I have the same problem. When I try to download music files (mp3) download
freezes. I usually exit the download and try again couple of times till it
succeeds to download. By the way, what site are you downloading movies from
and is it for free?
