situations and while different sets of applicatiopns are running, do i have a
hope in the world:

First thing to do would be to run an up to date virus and spyware scan.
Then take a look at what applications/processes are running in the
background.

First of all, I would not have QT, WMP and Real players running at the same
time, why not just run one when you need it? My guess, and it is just a
guess, one or more of these media players are not playing well with one or
more of the others..........bottomline: they are competing for the right to
play whatever is up for grabs. Try disabling all but WMP for a while and
see if the error goes away. If needed, add the others back, one at a time
and try to determine the culprit.
Heirloom, old and only has WMP
disclaimer: I ain't no guru, but,
the above can't hurt.

"John John":

When the error message appears, press 'Alt' and 'D' on your keyboard and see
what comes up. It should be specific information about the cause of your
error in the top section of the entire info received.
Hope this works for you.

Harry.

A (tiny) glimmer of hope? - perhaps .. possibly ..

spool32.exe is associated with your printer. *Maybe* a temporary 'uninstall'
(delete) of your printer for a day or two would show if is causing your
intermittent error reports.

If it relieves it, then 're-install' your printer and see if that fixes it.

See also "How to Troubleshoot Spool32 Error Messages"
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;191949

Good luck

Mart

It appears that the file spool32.exe is associated with a number of
trojans. Here's one:

A thorough scan of of your system for malware is warranted to insure
your system is clean.

No question about it, Tom, you hit the nail on the head.
Now John can go ahead and clean his machine.

Harry.
