Windows 98 OE error

I reinstalled Win 98 on my computer, not a problem. It
starts up fine; however Win doesn't stay on it rolls over
to an error message after about 10 seconds. Message reads
a "fatal exception OE has occurred at 0028:FF086BBE" and I
can either restart or press any key to continue. When I
press a key I get the same error message with a different
code ("at 0000:00000000"). It starts in Safe Mode.

I've search the online sources for help but have come up
empty handed? Does anyone have any ideas on how to
troubleshoot this problem?
