Under the start-programs ...

is there a way to clean up this list of all the programs. I would like to
remove the items from this list that have the shortcut on the desktop.

Plus, alot of programs I dont use all of the time. Thanks.

Start/Settings/Taskbar/..Properties/[General] (X)Use Personalized Menus

After a couple days or so the entries you don't click on will start hiding.

Or right-clickdelete

Or make another folder in there and drag them in

Ive tried to right click and delete however did not work

Looked at the option of personal items, although, would perfer to delete the
options that have shortcuts on the desktop. Any other way to get rid of these
programs?

right-click then choose Delete from the menu? Still think that unless
you're editing Start/Programs for somebody else you should at least just
create a folder in there and drag-n-drop the shortcuts into it.

well if you can find Taskbar Properties by either right-clicking on the
Taskbar or from Start/Settings, Advanced Tab and push the Advanced button,
you'll be able to edit the Start/Programs tree as a directory.

If no luck there we'll dive into the registry and see if we can get that
right-click to work... this is Windows Millenium Edition (WinME), right?
Are you the only User ?

Yes, the os is WinMe.

I can get into the tree, however, when I delete the item it wants to send
the program to the recycle bin.

What I am interested in is just removing the item from the dispay under the
programs.
