CALC.EXE starts at boot time , please help!
Hello All,
I have a win 98SE pc fully patched, but for some reason after the windows login screen comes up, calc.exe starts. I have looked in the startup group, autoexec, and dosstart.bat files, and all registry keys dealing with loading apps, even searched the registry for "calc.exe". Anyone have any idea why this is happening, and how to fix it. Thanks for any help MMJII |

CALC.EXE starts at boot time , please help!
Do you mean the calculator itself opens at boot?
I have reasons to ask this stupid question. But the post does not specify if the calculator opens or windows just reports something about calc.exe. opening. Or it is in the list of running programs in the close program menu. -----Original Message----- Hello All, I have a win 98SE pc fully patched, but for some reason after the windows login screen comes up, calc.exe starts. Check in Msconfig for any oddities.
(Start-Run-MSCONFIG-Startup tab) If you cannot see anything in Msconfig then: Start-Run-msinfo32 Click the + beside Software Environment to expand. Click Startup Programs Ctrl+A to Select All, Ctrl+C to Copy. Paste that information in your message. ....Alan -- Alan Edwards, MS MVP W95/98 Systems http://dts-l.org/index.html In microsoft.public.win98.gen_discussion, "MMJII" wrote: Hello All, I have a win 98SE pc fully patched, but for some reason after the windows login screen comes up, calc.exe starts. Start Run, type msconfig and click OK.
Click the StartUp tab. Look for any entry that is calling Calc.exe. -- Glen Ventura, MS MVP W95/98 Systems http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm "MMJII" wrote in message ... None whatsoever.. I'm stumped!!
