Default CMDINST error!!!!

I tried installing a conexant modem in WinME and accidentally loaded a WinXP
driver. Now I get a cmdinst error whenever I boot up and I cannot even get
to my desktop. I boot up in safe mode, there in no modem in the device
manager, and it won't let me install a WinME driver for it. If I take out
the modem entirely it boots up fine.....The modem was pulled from a working
system and works fine!!!

Can anyone please help me???

Boot to Safe Mode and use system restore to roll your system back to before
you installed the wrong modem drivers. Note you should only do this if you
installed the modem in the last few days as IMO using system restore to roll
back more than a few days, a week at most, can cause more problems than it
solves.
