I'm 1.31 km from the exchange and I wouldn't mind getting even 2 MB, at the
moment I can't even get more than half a MB I'm changing. Shane knows all about it was talking to him this afternoon g PS: And you can still keep your mussels even done the way you said, don't forget I don't drink so that wouldn't make any difference g -- Joan Archer http://www.freewebs.com/crossstitcher http://lachsoft.com/photogallery "Noel Paton" wrote in message ... "Joan Archer" wrote in message ... you can definitely keep the mussels I've never liked them since being young Mum and Dad had them a lot, yuck. Ah - you've obviously never had them properly cooked..... most English cooks tend to boil them to rubber. steam (preferably in white wine/chalottes/garlic) lightly for no more than 5 minutes, serve with warm baguette, and lots of white wine g Have you got that router set up yet or are you still playing chicken with it vbg Cluck cluck! vbeg I've got to try and lay down the law and get my line gain upgraded, my service is for up to 8 MB but my line is only capable of 2 MB and I'm getting no where near that, I don't understand the results of these speed tests but I've been told I should get faster speed for my ADSL than I get. Don't bet on it! try resetting the router - then do an online speed test, and at the same time, check the various readings on dB, etc.... chances are that you are too far from the exchange to get more than 2Mb/s - which equates to ~250KB/s. You have to be within about 1 Km of the exchange to get much more than that. Anyway going to go and catch up, I'm a moderator and administrator on a site now so got to catch up g "a stitch in time"?, eh?? have fun! -- Noel Paton CrashFixPC Nil Carborundum Illegitemi www.crashfixpc.co.uk __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 4057 (20090506) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 4057 (20090506) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com |

You'll notice, no doubt, that mine too is a Scottish name. Arguably I'm more
Scottish than the Welshman! Chiswick trumps Slough. Whereas Slough just trumps. :-) I was talking with a Scottish dept head some years back - at France '98 time. I told him my father raised me to be a Scotland supporter... (this is where timing counts!) ....but eventually I decided to support a team that actually had a chance of winning! Having said that, I last went to an England game in the '70s by which time I'd had enough, and if anything they've got worse in the intervening years! The shame about Scotland was they never made use of their best player, Charlie Cooke (who finally had the good sense to go to the States!). Shane Heather wrote: Heh heh!! Chiswick trumps Slough. Whereas
Actually, I take that back! It occurred to me the funny way we see the UK tilted, so I checked with Google Earth and Slough is 51 30 33 65 N, while Chiswick is 51 29 33 06 N! Slough just trumps. But not that. Shane |
