Default Unable to remove dial-up shortcut icon from desktop.

Hello:

I have a Icon for a dial-up service on my desktop that I am unable to remove. I no longer use the dial-up service but when I try to remove the Icon I get a gray window with the heading:
Connection Manager Profile Installer
and a lot of gobblegook.

Try My Computer Dial Up Networking and remove it from there. Then
if it's still on the Desktop try removing it.

It is not listed in the Dial Up Networking list.
Let me explain it in more detail.
It is an Icon with the generic Windows image.
It is labeled " Dial Up for Valunet". (Valunet is a ISP which has gone out
of business.)
When I double click it I get the message " The service profile is damaged.
Re-Install the service profile".
When I Right click it I get 4 options. Connect, Delete, Properties, and
Create Short Cut.
Delete gives me a large gray screen with the heading " Connect Manager
Profile Installer" and 15 or so lines of DOS language. One of the file names
mentioned is cmstp.exe. But nothing in the gray window is "actionable" it
is just info.
Properties gives me " The service profile is damaged. Re-Install the service
profile".
I know nothing about the Connection Manager.

The current ISP is working fine. Everything works fine. The Icon is just
annoying !

This is what I found when I did A Registry search for "Dialer for Valunet"
REGEDIT4

ValueNet]

You may be able to delete it from Dos. Look in the
C:\WINDOWS\Desktop folder. Otherwise you could delete the
Dialer For ValueNet] part of the registry key. Not User
Information just the ValueNet part.
