Default DeskTop icons - where is layout stored?

Win98SE

I recently tidied up and moved lots of the desktop icons

I logged off
When Ilogged back on they were back in some old state I had before

Is all the layout stored in the registry ?
What's the best way to 'save' this layout for the next time ?

Steve,

Get Icon Restore. it will do just that. It's a small freeware
utility. After the install arrange the icons then right click My
Computer and "save layout".
To restore it go back again and restore it. You can right click the
Recycle Bin, DUN and other system icons as well.

I wouldn't be without it. Especially after being in Safe Mode.

cheers for quick reply

I'lltry that, like the bit about safe mode
Oh the irony the only reason I logged off was to save the positions
before I went into Safe mode - ha ha

What's annoying is that it normal saves / keeps positions - but this
time...

It works great - except for one Icon "My Computer" - it moved it
Goto laugh haven't you.

Excellent though, over screen size/change - autoarrange test - it
worked fine.

thanks for that tip.
