Default Widows 98 CD or Boot up disc

I had a Gate Way computer donated to my day care that was set up for Windows
98. When I turn it on it has a blank screen gives me the error message
operating system not found. I have a newer computer that does not have a
floppy disk drive, how can I get a copy of a floppy disk or a cd to boot up
this computer?

You can get a utility for creating a boot floppy at www.bootdisk.com.
However, you will need access to a machine with a floppy drive to be able to
use it.

Can you remove the floppy drive from the W98 machine, install it in the
newer computer, create the boot floppy and test it, then move the drive back
to the W98 machine?

You would not have to mount the drive in the newer computer - simply open
the case and connect the cables while you run the utility to create the
floppy.

I borrowed a friends usb floppy drive and tried the disk at bootdisk.com. I
got the message remove disk and press any key to restart. I pressed enter
and got the same message operating system not found.

Please be advised that the downloads at
http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm are programs that you
download and double-click on a working Windows computer.
They will not work if you simply copy them to a floppy disk.
