Default Ctrl - Alt - Delete, lexplorer listed twice

Iexploer shows up twice in the "end task list when I press
Ctrl - Alt - Delete. If by chance I get it to go away, It
comes back. I have tried to "Disk Cleanup", then tried to
run "Scan Disk" with and without "auto fix errors" but I
get the "10 times tried" message. I did "Ctrl - Alt -
Delete" to stop all the other programs and still can not
get "Scan disk" or "Disk Defragmenter" to run out. I am
running "Windows98 SE". I ran Norton AntiVirus a few times
with no problems found. Whats next?

Your post shows up twice also ;-)
For the Scandisk problem, try running it from Safe Mode, or better yet, have a look
here, by MS MVP Ron Badour:

Here is a little utility to automate it for you:
GEODisk by MS MVP George Gedye

For the iexplore (Internet Explorer) problem of appearing twice, first try running a
repair on Internet
Explorer:

Click StartRun, type the following and click Enter, for IE5x:
RUNDLL32 SETUPWBV.DLL,IE5Maintenance

or this, if you have IE6x installed:
RUNDLL32 SETUPWBV.DLL,IE6Maintenance

Choose the Repair option, and continue.

If the repair says it cannot complete, or it does not fix the problem, reinstall
Internet Explorer:

Also, and probably should be done FIRST:

Update your anti-virus app and then run a full-system virus scan.

Use CWShredder, the CoolWeb removal tool, available he

http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads...CWShredder.exe
http://aumha.org/downloads/cwshredder.zip

In addition, install Ad-Aware 6 free edition, start it, click its 'Check for
Updates' link in the app to install updates, then use it to scan your system, and
remove what it finds.

Install, update and run SpyBot Search & Destroy, scan your system, and then remove
the items in RED only.
