display properties-changing appearance scheme problem

hi!
i am having win98 operating system on my pc.
when i change scheme in display properties-appearance of my computer the
machine gets hanged.pls help me.

Sorry, I can't answer you question, but hopefully someone can help us both!
I have the same problem on 2 Dell Optiplex GX150s. I just reformatted and
reloaded Win98se using the Dell CDs. I downloaded newest drivers from the
Dell website and got all critical updates for Win98.
I can go into the display properties and change the screensaver, etc., but
when I change the Appearance and click on apply or ok, the Display Properties
stop responding and I have to go into the task manager and end task. Could
one of the updates have caused a problem? Or maybe the graphics driver? I
have the Intel 82815 onboard graphics controller installed.
I will look around on the Dell site too for info, but if anyone has any
ideas, please let me know!
