defraging
When I go to defrag my h/drive, it is quick, and it
doesn`t clear all the data, like it should.I watch and see the screen data erase the bad data, but it leaves 6 rows of bad data on screen. The ledgend says "these will not be moved". My p/c is running a lot slower than it used to.. Any help on this ,would be greatly appreciated. SWICK |

Defrag does not erase any data, good or bad. It rearranges files that are
fragmented into pieces. Some files cannot be moved--that's normal. Define a slow PC--slow booting (how long), slow loading programs (which ones), slow navigating in Explorer, etc? How much ram is installed, what CPU, etc? Here are some things to start with: Do a full scan with an up to date anti virus program followed by a spyware hunt: Spyware/scumware/adware are causing numerous system problems. I recommend you download and use the following programs and consider removing everything these programs identify. Be aware that there are frequent updates to these programs and you need to check for them before every use.
