Default Windows 98 disc

I got an old computer that runs on Windows 98. I have the product key for
the disc, but do not have the disc itself, and I would like to change some of
the settings in Windows, but I can't do that without the disc. What do I
do?

Post your intentions here and seek comment.
You can change practically all Windows settings
without use of the CD so long as
(1) You are sure your backup system files are
both up to date and malware-free
(2) You understand how to (back up beforehand
and) edit the Registry.

Really, there is nothing to do except buy another copy of 98.

You need a Win98 disk, though it need not be the one that matches the
Product Key you have. IOW, can you borrow one from someone?

Unless you want to reinstall from scratch, in which case you'll need to
purchase a copy. EBay still has them.

Sometimes the CAB files are installed on the computer. If that is the
case, you can point to these when a disk is asked for. Do a search
for *.cab abd see what you come up with, I have 77 of them for 98SE.

What settings do you want to change, there are programs out there that
let you do a lot of configuration manipulation such as X-setup.
