Default Thumbnail Problem

REGSVR32 THUMBVW.DLL

This works! This just saved me hours of work. I am
working a project with 4000 photos and other images saved
on my computer. This should be listed on the Knowledge
Base Article for this issue with Windows ME. Thanks a
bunch!

Your problem is different in that you don't have the Thumbnail option in
Explorer | View as a result of having installed a nVidia driver set.
Re-registering thumbvw.dll is the fix for where thumbnails aren't
displayed even though selected using Explorer | View.

found your response in the windowsme.general "Thumbnail View option goes
AWOL" posts

regarding the reg entry that nvidia had removed...

absolutely brilliant... your solution done the trick as far as thumbnails
go...

1) The 'New' function and its associated submenu (FIXED) thanks to "Mike
Maltby"
2) The Thumbnail selection from the View Menus (FIXED) thanks to "Mike
Maltby"
3) File sharing functions
4) File copying functions
5) DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) functions
(list obtained from http://www.x-setup.net/forum/showthread.php?t=475 )

this does feel a job when i only noticed the new folder option missing at
first & now it expanded to this...
just a few more probs left to cure thanks to the ignorance of nvidia...

being that your doing so well... any ideas on the rest of them... Mike...

others... as yours was the only one to work to help me, & no doubt for many
others too...

Thanks for the feedback. I've just e-mailed Jim Eshelman with the details
to see if he wants to add it to Aumha.org

Mike..solution sounds like it's a fix for me as well, but
I don't know how to re-register a dll file. Could you
head me in the right direction?

Mike..Found my answer under your response in 'General

worked great! Thanks!
