Default printer error

I get the message "There was an error writing to LPT1: for
the printer (HP Deskjet890C Series (2): There was a
problem printing to the printer due to an unknown system
error."
Can anyone help?

Has this ever worked? In any case, I'd first suggest uninstalling and then
reinstalling the printer driver. Does the test page print successfully?
